N-Series Agitator

N-Spindle agitator with N-Series are designed for a wide range of service in the chemical, pharmaceutical, ethanol and biofuels, water and wastewater, Flue Gas Desulfurization, power and other general process industries.

The agitators feature a new, high-efficiency gearbox designed specifically for agitator service, which allow higher radial and combined forces (radial and axial) to be adsorbed. N-Series are available in right angle and parallel shaft configurations to meet specific application requirements from critical chemical reactor systems to routine storage.

N-Series are modular compact design package that reduces the number of replacement parts that need to be carried in inventory by the customer.

The wide range of speeds available with the new agitators provides improved process control and greater application versatility.

Designed to meet AGMA, ANSI, IEC, NEMA, DIN and ATEX motor standards and requirements.

N-Series are offering the following features:

  • For extremely long shaft, special and long life bottom steady bearing are available
  • For large overhang design, N-series available with easy maintenance (EM) kits which allow user technical person to perform service maintenance without lift-up shaft & propeller(s)
  • Propeller(s) design with welded or bolted type allow easy site installation
  • Options with extra-long key and multiple key available on request for propeller location adjustment.

Design

N-Series have four (4) common design configuration to serve difference design applications and installation need.

Standard Design

 

  • Standard design are mostly installed and use for majority mixing vessel with ambient temperature and pressure rating
  • Standard design are assemble with mixing shaft directly insert into gear reducer without utilized any coupling which reduced any possible of shaft misalignment hence reduced of shaft shaking and vibration
With Coupling

 

  • This design are extended from standard design whereby coupling are assemble to meet customer design requirement and installation need
  • N-series coupling consist of welded coupling and power lock taper coupling
With Easy Maintenance (EM) Pedestal

 

  • N-series with EM kits are commonly apply for shaft length 4m and above
  • With EM pedestal, user will have convenience during gear reducer service maintenance whereby shaft & propeller are not required to lift up. Refer to N-Spindle installation & operating manual (IOM)
Single and double seal design

 

  • Specially design for pressurized vessel and/or with temperature higher then ambient temperature.
  • Design come with highly precision machined sealing shaft and coupling
  • Single mechanical seal are mainly use for vessel tank less than 5 bar and low speed application where dry run are in need
  • Double mechanical seal are specially design and installed for high pressure and/or high temperature application with external cooling system
  • Bottom steady bearing are mostly recommended for single and double mechanical seal to pro long seal life span

Shafting

N-Series shafting are design with capabilities to handle propeller bending loads, torsional loads, minimum deflection and gear misalignment.

Shafting are design avoid the coincidence of critical frequencies and operating speed, avoiding any possible of shaft shaking and reduced of bearing life span.

  • Standard single shaft are commonly assembled with N-series.
  • Some space constrains join shaft are available on request.
  • Special large mixer, hollow shaft or pipe will be utilized to reduced handling and installation difficulties.
  • Common materials for shafting available is carbon steel, mild steel, SUS 304, SUS 304L, SUS 316, SUS 316L, super duplex, rubber lining, FRP lining and Teflon coating.

Shafting Seal

  • Most common are lip seal and oil seal, design mean for ambient pressure and temperature environments
  • Single mechanical with dry run capabilities are available for several design conditions
  • Double mechanical seal are customized accordingly to each customer seal requirements
  • Common international seal brand assemble is John Crane, Burgmann, Chemzip, Scenic and AES.

Shaft joining & coupling

  • Direct insert – mono block compact design are most common apply for N-series
  • Rigid bush coupling
  • Welded flange coupling
  • Power lock taper coupling
  • For constrain roof space, single shaft might have difficulties site installation. Under this circumstance, joint shaft are necessary. N-series will engineering the high precision coupling for this joint purpose.

  • Cast aluminum gear box for normal duties projects for frame size 29
  • Cast iron gear box with frame size from 39 above
  • High efficiency transmission, generally efficiency 96% for two stages and 94% for three stages gear
  • Load factor are comply to AGMA standard
  • Reinforcement special bearing are utilizes to handle high radial & axial load
  • Lubrication are commonly with grease and/or bath lubrication
  • Optional gearbox with dry well seal, to avoid oil leak & contamination

Installation Experience
